¿Es
esta tu primera experiencia en la interpretación de un personaje a
través de captura en movimiento?, ¿cómo te sientes sabiendo que ibas a
interpretar a uno de los personajes más populares y reconocidos de la
serie Resident Evil?
No, he hecho la mayor parte de
trabajo para las voces de los juegos, pero Motion Capture un par de veces.
Castlevania 2 y The Darkness, pero estoy seguro de que puede haber unos pocos
más, no lo recuerdo ahora mismo.
Me siento honrado de ser Wesker. No
tenía ni idea de lo grande que era el juego y, sobre todo, ¡el personaje! Él es
el Darth Vader en el mundo de los videojuegos!
¿Te sientes
identificado con el personaje?, ¿Su personalidad se asemeja a la tuya?
He estado
interpretando a muchos chicos malos en el escenario, en la televisión y el cine
durante 23 años. Supongo que estaba preparado para algo así. Wesker está muy
seguro de sí mismo, es riguroso y confiado, yo poseo esas cualidades.
Ese nivel de
fiabilidad en la práctica es difícil de falsificar y sería mejor retratado por
alguien que lo fuese en la vida real.
¿Has tenido
la oportunidad de conocer en profundidad lo que es Resident Evil?, ¿Qué hay
detrás de los planes de Albert Wesker?, ¿Has jugado algún juego de la saga?
No he jugado el
juego, pero lo he visto, ¡y es realmente bueno! ¡No soy un viciado de los juegos
pero me gustaría probar a jugarlo! ¡Me imagino que sólo jugarán los fans más
malvados!
Sí, estoy muy
bien informado sobre Wesker y sus planes, hemos pasado muchas horas de "hashing"
de los personajes y sus relaciones en el plató, durante el rodaje y tras la
cámara.
Mi personaje es
la creación de la combinación que Capcom quiere, el director ve y cómo yo podía
representar ambos.
¿Cómo fue tu
relación con los otros actores y director? ¿Conocías a la mayor parte de los
actores? ¿Con quién tuviste una mejor amistad?
Sí, Chris
Redfield (Reuben Langdon) y yo hemos sido amigos durante varios años, incluso
trabajado juntos en Castlevania 2. Nos divertidos, es uno de mis amigos en
MYSPACE

Sheva y yo nos
convertimos rápidamente en amigos, aún estamos en contacto. Todos, desde el
rodaje, en serio, desde la producción hasta el elenco de trucos, aún se mantiene
el contacto. Un gran grupo de personas.
¿Puedes hablarnos de Albert
Wesker en Resident Evil 5?
Él tiene una relación
diferente/peculiar con los otros personajes del juego, y lo hemos
plasmado/reflejado sutilmente en las actuaciones y escenas. Creo que la
actuación y escenas teatrales (cutscenes) causarán muchos debates y
especulaciones entre los fans. Les prometo que será la mejor historia que
cualquier fan haya visto en toda saga.
Como actor, ¿Crees que
Resident Evil 5 podría ser el último juego de la serie?
Bueno, como me dijeron cuando
fui asesinado en la serie HEROES: "Ken no te preocupes, nadie muere en la
ciencia ficción". Así que, independientemente de los resultados, siempre hay
espacio para las secuelas de ciencia ficción, pero nunca se sabe, y
honestamente no tengo ni idea de si habrá o no otro.
¿Puedes decirnos dónde
está el lugar "real" de rodaje donde te vemos luchar con Chris Redfield? (La
localización real, parece una mansión...)

en la trama del juego, ¿qué nos puede decir acerca de este personaje?
Ella está desempeñada por una
maravillosa, bella y talentosa actriz llamada Nina Fehren, también amiga en
myspace, en myspace existen varias de las fotos de escenas en el rodaje.
¿Se mueve mucho dinero en
este mundo? (Mo-cap actores)
Hmmm, no realmente, b/c no
obtenemos muchos beneficios del juego. Lo mejor que podemos esperar, es que
nos inviten a algunas convenciones de anime o algún juego para firmar
autógrafos. Es una manera de ganar algo de dinero para nosotros los actores,
porque hacemos una fracción de lo que haría un actor en un programa de
televisión o película.

Is this your
first experience in the interpretation of a character
through Motion Capture?, How do you feel knowing that
interpret one of the most popular and recognized
characters of the Resident Evil series?
Nope ive
done MOSTLY voice work for games, but Mo-Capped a FEW
times. Castlevania 2 and The Darkness, but im sure there
may be a few I cant remember. I am HONORED to be Wesker.
I had no idea just how big the game and especially the
character was! He is the Darth Vader of the gaming
world!
Do you feel
identified with the character?, Is the personality of
Wesker seemed to yours?
I have been
playing evil guys on stage, TV and film for 23 years. I
guess Im just good at playing bad. He is very self
assured, self righteous and confident, and I definitely
posses THOSe qualities; I guess thats why I am so good
at playing evil. That level of assurance in action is
hard to fake and best portrayed by one who has it in
real life.
Have you had
a chance to know in depth what Resident Evil, and what
plans are behind Albert Wesker?, Have you played any
Resident Evil game?
Havent
played the game yet, but I have seen it; and MAN does it
look cool! Im not a gamer and I REALLY want to play it!
I can only imagine how badly gamers and fans want to
play! Yes, Im am pretty well versed in Wesker and his
plans; we spent many hours hashing out the characters
and their relationships on set, during filming and in
the table read. My character creation is a a combination
of what Capcom wants, the director sees and how I
portray the two.
How was your
relationship with other actors and director? Did you
know the majority of actors? With whom to have better
friendship?
Yeah, Chris Redfield (Reuben
Langdon) and I have been friends for a couple years now,
even worked together on Castlevania 2. Funny, he is one
of my MYSPACE FRIENDS at
www.myspace.com/kenlally.
Sheva and I became fast friends are still stay in
contact. Everyone from the shoot, really, from
production to cast to stunts--still keeps in touch.
Great group of people.
Can you tell
us about Albert Wesker in Resident Evil 5?
He has a
distinct relationship with the other characters in the
game, that we kind of inserted SUBTLY into the
performance and scenes. I think the acting and
theatrical scenes will cause A LOT of future discussion
and speculation amongst the fans. I promise it will be
the most involved/best story the fans have watched yet.
As an actor,
Do you think Resident Evil 5 may be the last game of the
series?
Well, like they told me when I was
killed on HEROES: "dont worry Ken, no one ever dies in
sci-fi". So, no matter what the outcome, there is ALWAYS
room for sequels in sci-fi, but you never know; and
honestly I have no idea if there will be another or not.
Can you tell
us where is the place that we'll see you fighting with
Chris Redfield? (The real location, seems a mansion...)
Nope, you
got to play the game, my friends!

She is
played by a wonderful, beautiful and talented actress
named Nina Fehren, also a mysace friend, actually! Check

Is big money
moves in this world? (Mo-cap actors)
hmmm, not
really, b/c we dont get residuals from the game. The
best we can hope for, is to get invited to some gaming
or anime conventions to sign autographs. Its kind of a
way to make residuals for us actors, because we make a
fraction of what we would make on a movie or TV show.
